The COVID-19 pandemic has changed every aspect of all our lives for now and in the future. How we work, how we educate our children, as well as how and where we get our healthcare. With social distancing and the need to be safe, some of your healthcare could be done via Telehealth. We still feel that the best care is rendered in person and mostly require an in-office visit; please rest assured that we do so carefully, taking precautions for your family and our own staff’s safety. Telehealth charges now include scheduled and same day virtual visits as well as other telephone interactions with our providers as we provide care and guidance for your child’s health. Our nurse triage line will continue to function as is at this time. However, calls needing direct provider interaction are considered Telehealth. This is a change for all of us as we learn to navigate Telehealth challenges and rules.
Our state government as well as many insurers have added modifications to the pre COVID19 Telehealth rules for providers. While this is mostly good news for the consumers ability to use Telehealth and get remote care, your individual plan may have its own rules for Telehealth. Please contact your own plan as each has different policies in place for copays and cost sharing.
Telehealth will be with us in the future. We intend to continue to integrate it into our practice after this pandemic is over. It will be a benefit to accessing healthcare but after COVID19 we will all need to adjust to whatever government and insurers rules are put in place.
So, for now follow the advice of medical experts, be safe and take care of yourself and your families. Use Telehealth when it makes sense. We have been serving our community for over 60 years through many changes in the world and appreciate the confidence so many of you have in our care during this difficult time.
